History:

First and foremost! Look at some of the faces of the Angels that have taken the command to "GO." Enjoy! (Click Here) Know, this is only a few that have gone. We are looking for YOU to join us soon!

The companion synod relationship with Peru began in 1999 when the first group from the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod traveled to Lima, Peru. This initial trip was for the 1st ordination of Lutheran pastors in the country of Peru. Since that time many others have made the journey both from the USA to Peru and from Peru to the USA. The Lutheran Synod of Peru is known as "Iglesia Luterana Evangelica Peruana (ILEP)." Email for the President of ILEP is Pastor Pedro Bullon and Vice President is Pastor Benjamin Navarro. A very good friend at Emanuel Lutheran in Peru is Matilde Ponce.

Visits to Our Brother & Sisters in Peru:

Since that initial ordination visit in 1999 (mentioned above), about 2 to 3 trips per year have been made by members of our churches here in Texas. Each of these trips has consisted of 24 to 30 people. So, it is estimated that from 300 to 400 people from our area have visited our families in Peru. In the beginning we thought of the trips as "Mission Trips," but no longer... THEY FAMILY REUNIONS! View some of those that have visited Peru (Click Here). When will you come and joing the fun? Check here for possilble next trip!

Goals:
Several congregations in our synod and other synods too have developed close relationships with individual churches in Peru. Together we have sponsored many new and exciting programs to assist them. See program list below. The excitement is contagious! To learn more about how to join in the fun, contact:
