We are the Global Mission Team for the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).

On this site you will find news about our synod's global mission service and travel opportunities, ELCA missionaries supported by the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod and its congregations, news, projects, and praises for our Companion Synods, and much more!

In the ELCA, we practice an accompaniment model for global mission that calls churches to walk together in service to God's mission.

In fulfillment of this mission, throughout our synod you will find congregations:

• offering mission trips to our Companion Synods (Central African Republic, Hungary and Peru),
• supporting missionaries in countries such as Mexico, Guatemala and Kenya,
• sponsoring educational opportunities for children in Peru via the "Future Seekers" program,
• collecting and packing supplies for Global Health Ministries,
• hosting international visitors,
• building global awareness and understanding at Global Mission Festivals, and
• sponsoring fair trade sales of coffee, chocolate and handcrafts.
