Project 1 - Future Seekers -- 2008!:
- Our Goal: To find as many people as possible (or church groups, ie adult class, Bible Study group, etc.)
that will sponsor a needy child in Peru so that he/she can attend school for 1 year!
- 2008 School Year:
- The schools in Peru go from March to December of each year. So It is time for us to begin finding sponsors for the 2008 school year.
- Cost of Support: In Peru, it takes a donation on your part of $415.00/yr. Your financial support will send a child to school that would not have the opportunity to go and would likely be on the streets "without YOUR help."

- Peruvian Churches needing assistance for their children's education: For the school year 2008, you can pick a child soon from the list of Peruvian Lutheran churches below.
(Click Church link below to see photos of children). If you would send a photo of yourself or your family to John Warner, it will be placed beside the photo of your child in Peru so the child can see who sponsored them.

- How is your donation handled in Peru:
- The Tx-La Gulf Coast Synod Office will wire (USA bank to Peru bank) your donations to Iglesia Luterana Evangelica Peruana (ILEP - The Peruvian Lutheran Synod) along with your instructions as to Peru Church and Child. The money will be sent in a timely fashion so that it can be used for school in 2008.
- ILEP will do the following:
- They will have a dedicated person to handle the funds
- They will deliver the donations to the church of your choice for the child or children of your choice.
- They will oversee that the funds are handled properly by each of the churches and families
- They will have an outside auditor to review all funds send to Peru for this project
- Should you have question about the program in Peru, you can contact:
- History: In the 2006 school year, this program initially began. We were overwhelmed at the great response and therefore decided to continue it each year. Below are the results for each of the first two years:
- 2006 -- 62 children were sponsored (All sponsored by Living Word in Katy, Tx.)
- 2007 -- 159 children were sponsored
